I’m sure you’ve already heard about the town of Paradise being affected by the fires (https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2018/11/08/camp-fire-butte-county-paradise/).
Unfortunately, one of my friends was deeply affected. Kevin Schiffmacher is a Chico State graduate and former Undergrad that I mentored when I was Chapter Advisor of Kappa Theta (CSU, Chico) chapter of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity.
Kevin is in desperate need of help for him, his wife Jaclyn, and their 19-month-old daughter Elisia. Like so many others, they narrowly escaped Paradise during the initial evacuation of the Camp Fire. Recently, their worst fears were realized after finding out that their home fell victim to the fire. This was Kevin and Jaclyn’s first house as a recently married couple and the only home Elisia had ever known; their 3rd anniversary was last week. They were evacuated once again from their safe haven in Chico, due to the high winds and potential threat. They have lost everything except each other at this point. I know that there are so many people that want to give back and help but don’t know how.
I’m asking for any donation, whether that be cash, clothing, diapers, gift cards to other stores, etc. This GoFundMe account is for money donations for him and his family and I will hand deliver him the funds, along with other gifts.
I can deliver them personally, as I mentor the Kappa Theta chapter in Chico. All of Elisia’s toys were destroyed in the fire as well. I would love to be able to replace some of them for her. The family has expressed that they are trying to stay strong and are doing everything they can to keep things as “normal” as possible for Elisia. With your donation, 100% of the funds will directly benefit this family.
For toys, clothing, and diaper purposes, Elisia is19 months / Size 24 clothing / Size 5 diapers.
Gift cards to Target, Walmart, Costco, Safeway, Home Depot, TJMaxx, and others are usually available when cashing in credit card, hotel, and airline points.
