Hello everyone, as I’m sure this will be read on many different platforms by many different walks of life, I would like to start off with a thank you for just taking the time to check out my story. I would like to give y’all a small introduction to fill in the blanks which lead me to creating this account. February 16, 2017– it’s a week after I have delivered my first child, and my 24th birthday..I had a boy! Which was exactly what what we wanted..I’m at a follow up visit thinking nothing of it, and I feel like I’m having a twilight zone moment, as I’m listening to my doctor explain that the large mass that started growing on my hip during pregnancy turn out to be cancer; a rare form related to pregnancy. “Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma” is what he called it. My entire life has been a rollercoaster ever since. Fast forward to find out it’s stage 4, eating at my hip bones and spread to my lungs. Over the course of a year and a half I have endured chemo, and 3 surgery like procedures already to help shrink the mass in my hip. It causes major discomfort and pain, whether I sit, stand or lay due to the tumor suffocating my sciatic nerve. Even though I had to unenroll from school, I was still enjoying every bit of motherhood, and attempting to adult as best as I could. This upcoming Wednesday, November 14, 2018, I will be having a major surgery to go in and remove the original growth in my hip . We’re finally here! It seems like a long time coming. This surgery has been a topic of discussion since I received the initial diagnosis. But we received the news at such short notice, I basically was given a week to prep for surgery!! This morning I received a call to finalize the details of the surgery. Time, location, etc...but I was also informed of a copay that I truly cannot afford at such short notice. I’m asking for the help of my community, extended love from friends of friends and the grace of complete strangers, if they could donate to help me reach my goal to help cover the cost of my procedure.
