Darla’s Dream

My name is Nicole Graham I’m rallying together with all my fellow volunteers at the Castaic Animal Care Center to help Darla get the proper veterinary care she needs to save her life. Darla is a 5yr old Pitbull mix that came into our care at the shelter on October 24th as a stray. She immediately became a staff and volunteer favorite because her tail never stopped wagging and she always greeted everyone with a big smile. Shortly after she arrived we noticed she smelled of urine and was covered with yellow stains on her backside. She was sent in for a vet check and with an examination the vet staff discovered she was incontinent and leaking urine all over herself. Darla was diagnosed with a condition called ectopic ureters which causes her to leak urine constantly. This is caused by the ureters attaching incorrectly from the kidneys, to another part of the anatomy instead of the bladder. This can be corrected with surgery however it is expensive and not all veterinarians do it. She will also need further diagnostics and a cystoscopy to determine exactly what the surgery will entail. Darla’s Dream is to find a 501c3 rescue to pull her out of the shelter so she can get to a vet that will save her life by performing this surgery. Please help us raise money to save her life.
