Presenting Research, Art Ed Conference
Donation protected
My name is Heather, and I'm a visual art educator in Maine. I recently completed a classroom-based master's research project on ways to engage, inspire, and motivate adolescent boys in the studio art classroom. My research findings provide valuable strategies and information on creating curriculum and instruction that will encourage adolescent boys to engage in the creative process and find personal meaning through art-making. I submitted a proposal to present my research at the national level, and have been asked to present at the 2014 National Art Education Association Convention in San Diego, March 28-31st. This is a valuable professional opportunity, as well as a chance to share my research with art educators from across the country, helping teachers reach out to male middle school artists and increase their levels of artistic engagement. Please see my website for more information on the study, including a complete PDF transcript at:

My school district has generously provided the funding for my convention registration fee, but could not fund any other expenses. I am asking for donations to help defray the cost of airfare, lodging, and associated costs. Any and all support you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
