SPC Alternative Spring Break Mission

Thanks to the mission ministries of Shadyside Presbyterian Church (SPC) and the CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach) I am gaining a vision for how my Christian faith can have a global impact. It's not just about going to church every Sunday or getting involved in a campus Bible Study. It's about utilizing my talents and studies to impact lives on and off campus. The CCO is a campus ministry organization that partners with universities and churches such as SPC to see God transform college students to transform the world. The church helps to do this by inviting us to serve alongside them on short-term mission trips to their global mission partners.

This coming March 8-15, 2014, a group of college students from SPC will be headed to Long Island, Bahamas. There, out team will be hosted by the Caribbean Youth Network, a relational, Christ-centered, community-based youth ministry located throughout the Caribbean. SPC has supported this ministry since its foundation more than a decade ago. We're excited to be the first SPC team to serve in the Bahamas! We will participate in youth ministry and help with local construction needs. Our team consists of college students primarily from Carnegie Mellon and Chatham College for Women.


Our mission team is working together to raise the funds necessary for us to serve in the Bahamas. As a group we need to raise $750 per person by February 21, 2014. We want you to know about our alternative Spring Break plans and we want to invite you all to be apart of this journey with us through your prayers and possible financial gift.
