Now in it's 12th year, the 2College Durendael Exchange has been a program that has created global cultural and travel experiences for high school students. The exchange includes Bartow International Baccalaureate and Winter Haven High School. The trip, scheduled over spring break, takes students and chaperones from Polk County inside a school and private host homes in The Netherlands and to museums, on tours and to visit the premier tourist destinations there, and during a three day side trip in Paris, France. This opportunity is perfect for for our students to gain a hands on experience on travel, history, world culture, and learning more about education systems abroad. The program is well established and provides a truly amazing experience. It is a way for our students to broaden their horizons, and providing a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience European educational models first hand. 2College Durendael features anEnglish IB program, with classes in English. Three levels of education exist at 2College, providing educators with a captivating first hand experience.
I am trying to raise money to bring the cost down to our students, administrator, and adult chaperones on this amazing opportunity. The cost for each to go this year is $1600. There is no budget in our school system for these unique opportunities. Every little bit helps! If we go over the max we will continue to save for future years and keep this program going.
