Abbies Walk 2017

Abbies Walk

The idea of Abbies Walk is to raise as much money as possible for charities to be nominated by Kerry McInerney (Abbies mum). And Paul Meadowcroft (Step Dad) The event is going to be a walk in the Mournes followed by (if you wish) an overnight camp out to celebrate Abbies 16th birthday.  People taking part don't have to be super fit and we would just be pleased to see lots of people there to support the fundraising.  We will be getting sponsorship forms printed and will let those interested know where they can be collected. The GoFundMe Page is being used to give anyone who would like to donate but cant do the walk or want to donate and dont know anyone who is taking part a chance to show their support.

Abbie was 15 when she decided to end her life  on the 31st December 2015 and passed on the 2nd January 2016.  She has 2 sisters, 1 brother and 2 nieces.  Her passing has been a total shock and has left everyone devastated.  In the end Abbie donated her Organs and we were informed that she has saved/transformed the life of 5 different people.  In life she was a fixer and in death she was the same.   The people around who have supported her family have set about organising the above walk.  The walk is all about showing the love and support to all affected by her passing.  We hope to donate all funds to bring more awareness to Teenage Suicide and Prevention, so any monies donated will be divided amongst local Suicide Awareness Groups which have yet to be named.   We feel that not enough awareness is out there for our teenagers and we are hoping that this will help in some way of making a difference.
