Kim lost her battle to Cancer

Donation protected
Hello everyone on behalf of my whole family we would all like to thank you for all of your thoughts all of your prayers and all of your condolences after finding out we lost our beautiful Kim.

We tried not to post very intimate details about what was going on with Kim Per her request over the last 4 1/2 months.

As many of you by now know our beautiful sister, daughter, mother and friend lost her battle with gastric cancer at 1:26 AM on April 27, 2019. I cannot even sugarcoat it Kim’s last couple weeks on this planet we’re not good. She had immense pain throughout her whole body unfortunately the gastric cancer metastasized into her breasts, lungs, neck, bladder, kidneys and liver.

Friday was an absolute horrific day not only did she have a feeding tube but they also put her on a ventilator that was causing her extreme discomfort.

Over the past few days due to the fact that her kidneys and her liver stopped working the pain medication that she was receiving would only work for sometimes an hour or two.

She fought with all of her might up until two days before she left us. One of the most heartbreaking moments of this whole ordeal was when the hospice care team came in and asked Kim how she wanted to proceed with her treatment. As Wednesday this week Kim told her that there was still a chance and she wanted to proceed with her treatment. Little did I know she would leave us two days later.

Each one of our family members have received a literally hundreds of text messages and Facebook posts and Facebook direct messages and again we cannot thank you enough for how kind each and everyone of you have been.

I’m writing this post to let you know that Per Kim’s request she’s going to be cremated and she did not want a funeral service because in life she hated being the center of attention and in death she definitely did not want to be the center of attention. Due to the fact that everything is so recent and because each and everyone of us in the family is in complete shock we still have not determined whether or not we are going to have a memorial service for her. As of right now it does not look like we will have one but if something should change we will definitely let you guys know.

So many of you asked if Kim had a favorite charity or a favorite organization that you could donate to on her behalf? I’m embarrassed to say I don’t know.

Should any of you want to contribute anything and this is not a request I’m just bringing this up because so many reached out to all of us asking if there was anything that they can do my only suggestion would be to contribute to Kim‘s go fund me page and the link will be listed below and any of those contributions would go directly to Kim’s daughters Meyah & Keristyn Who had to take care of Kim over the last 4 1/2 months one who cut her hours short and one who quit her job completely to take care of her beautiful mother.

Please understand that if you have been texting my mother or either one of my nieces they are just not ready to talk and they may not be ready to talk for a very long time just know that they are getting your text messages and they are thankful for your love and your support.

None of us know what we’re gonna do from this point on because she was the rock of family. I mean she literally did everything she could for us and making sure my parents were taken care of.

On Friday night our whole family was called back to Beaumont Hospital after just left for the evening to let us know that Kim did not have much time left. The critical response team told us everything was failing.

As each one of us raced back to the hospital on the late hours of Friday/early morning hours of Saturday we all made it there in time to be with her.

At around 12:15 AM they administered the final drug to relax Kim due to the fact that her heart rate was in the 150s and her blood pressure kept fluctuating to critical lows on top of that her oxygen levels have dropped. Her lungs started to fill up with fluid and her poor throat was so full of mucus she could hardly breathe.

At 1:26 AM as I was holding my beautiful sister’s hand and feeling her pulse getting fainter and fainter and fainter and watching her breathing get less and less she passed away surrounded by her mother Eileen her daughters Keristyn and Meyah her sister Kelly her Brother-in-law Brian her longtime friend Alice, her future son-in-law Horus and her Aunt Charlotte.

In 1 million years I will never get over screaming to her how much I love her letting her know she was the best sister anyone could ever have she was the best mother anybody could have she was the best daughter anybody could have and in her final minutes as tears roll down her her cheeks she left us.

As I was sobbing uncontrollably I yelled out I hope there’s a heaven Kim because I cannot wait to see you again. She took her final breath and departed this planet with her mother holding one hand and myself holding the other.

I know this is very long and I’m rambling and I apologize but to summarize everything she’s being cremated there’s no plan for a memorial service at this time and you should you want to contribute anything in anyway shape or form please contribute to her go fund me where 100% will go directly to her daughters who lost their mother two weeks before Mother’s Day.

We love you all and we thank you all for all of your support - the Dombrow’s the Jahimiak’s and the Harbin’s
