Chato’s Leg Amputation (Hit & Run)

Donation protected
Chato is a 3 year old neutered male. He is a family pet, who is like a son to my brother and his wife. Chato is a friendly boy who lives with one other adopted sister dog and 2 cats. Unfortunately he was hit by a car who sped off and left him with a shattered leg. Now his leg has to be amputated and currently the vet bill to perform the surgery is quoted at $3,000 (hopefully less as we’re getting a second vet’s exam/quote today 9.10.18).This surgery is a hardship to my brother and sister-in-law because they recently got pregnant for the first time and are expecting the baby to be born in 3 months, plus his truck was also hit by a drunk driver which caused further monetary concerns. Thankfully the truck was parked and nobody got hurt. Our boy Chato deserves a chance at a healthy life. The other option was to euthanize. We oppose putting him to sleep for a leg, so we opted to have it removed. He normally never gets out of the house but the gate didn’t lock right and that’s how he ended up in the street. On my brother’s street (a residential area) people drive too fast. I will also be contacting the city about installing speed bumps because this is not the first time a neighborhood pet gets injured on this street due to speedy drivers. It’s a constant concern for the children and pets that live here. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Please help us save Chato!May your donation duplicate. God bless you for reading this and giving our family pet a chance!P.S. we have vet receipts and are taking photos of the vet process.
