FU Cancer!

My best friend Jennifer is 40 years young, in March 2018 she found a lump in her breast that the doctor biopsied, and she was then diagnosed with ER+ papillary carcinoma and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) which is a rare form of Breast Cancer. For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary human being.  She is cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong and always puts her friends and family before herself.  She underwent surgery to remove the cancer, which was successful.  But, she is still undergoing further testing to make sure everything is clear.  As a result, she will be having to undergo 3 weeks and one day of Radiation treatments, starting within the next two weeks. And may require more treatments following Radiation. Because of the treatments she will be required to take time off work to focus on her health.  Short term disability unfortunately does not provide full pay.  She lives alone, and she is her ONLY source of income. Short term disability (if approved) will only give 60% of wages making it difficult to make ends meet. All her vitamins are not covered by her benefits, and her medications is not fully covered by work benefits and with the everyday necessities of life, money will increasingly get tighter and tighter.  She could really benefit from taking time off to focus on the last steps of this journey in fighting cancer instead of burning out.  Jennifer is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support or the shirt off her back to anyone that needs it.   Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to Jenn.   Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated.
