Thank you for taking your time to at least read my story.

I would like to raise some funds to help me to complete a project which I have been working on for some time.
I would not normally ask for help, however, events beyond my control have put me into this desperate situation.

I am a hard working, night lorry driver and in my free time, I am renovating an old neglected 1902 property.
I have invested every spare penny, every spare hour of the day and every weekend, into this project and I just cannot abandon it now.  I have been doing it all by myself to keep the costs to the minimum.

However, on Thursday the 13th of Decemeber 2018, I collapsed at the wheel of my truck, which resulted in a rollover with no other vehicles involved, from which I was very lucky to walk away with just cuts and bruises. The title picture shows the end result.

After an initial conversation with a neurologist, the likely cause of my collapse could have been the stress of my present situation and the news that my van has to be scrapped as its engine cannot be fixed, which came only hours before the accident.

I am currently suspended, pending a medical investigation, but it is very likely that I will lose my driving licence and therefore livelihood, on medical grounds. I am left with no spare cash, no van, no licence, no income (my company doesn’t pay the sick leave), loans to be repaid, and just days before Christmas.

Renovating this property has not only been my dream but it is also where my very best friend lives who has already endured the prolonged renovations for the past two years.  I don’t want to let her down as she has helped me a lot in the past. She has been very patient but the constant noise, dust and unfinished interior have been impacting on her wellbeing as well.

I began this project because I am a very able DIY-er and I was convinced that I could have done it all by myself. However, the 116-year-old house had so many hidden issues which have drained all the money.  I took out loans to help with costs but not being allowed to work now has put me in a very desperate situation.

There are still many things to do such as re-wiring, re-plumbing, re-roofing, flooring, internal stud walls to build, kitchen units to fit and decorating.  It is such a shame to think that this property has managed to survive two world wars but now faces ruin because of pure bad luck.

I would like to thank you very much if you decide to support me. Your donation means that I will be able to survive the darkest days and my friend will have a permanent place to live. Every single penny donated is very much appreciated.  I am not a criminal, I was not drunk or speeding, I just feel ill at the wheel, no one was hurt, but without your help, I could lose every thing and my friend could too.

May I wish you all a very Happy New Year!
