Help me please. Young widow in need

Don protégé
Hi my name is Rachel Ellis. This is my husband Jerry. Jerry suddenly passed away on August 29, 2018 from an esophageal varices that ruptured as he battled end stage liver cancer visiting family in Medford, Oregon. I was home in California when he found out he was terminal. I found out only 4 days before he passed away. He never complained once of being in pain. Jerry was 65 years young. My world is shattered. I last saw him in June when he left for Oregon. I only got to say I love you for less than a minute on the phone before he slipped into a coma. We had almost 12 years together and I am devastated. I loved him with all my heart. He was my bestfriend and soulmate. Normally I would never ask for money or any other kind of help but I'm seriously scared and now alone. I am disabled with severe rheumatoid arthritis as well as several other neurological diseases. I just learned that I am not eligible for any widow's benefits through SSI due to my age (I'm 47 and SSI's cut off is 50). He was my primary caregiver and our primary source of income. We had no life insurance policy and owned no property... we were just barely making ends meet since his illness. My husband was an amazing man. Jerry had the hugest heart and helped everyone he met... be it buying a homeless person a burger, helping a stranger with a flat tire or helping my elderly demented mother shower and get dressed (before she had to be placed in an assisted living facility in July). This has been a very difficult 2 year nightmare between my mother's illness and Jerry's sudden death. I am currently living in my mother's home until it sells to pay for her care. Then I dont know what I'm going to do. I have no where to go and now no husband or money. I'm frightened. I have sold everything we own that had any value, now I'm out of options. I'm embarrassed to ask for help from friends and strangers but I just don't know what to do. I had help from some of his relatives in Oregon to cremate him and a burial plot was donated so he has a final resting place next to his mother here in California. His celebration of life was September 22nd. Currently, I seriously need help paying the bills, buying food for me and our cats and gas for the car. To further my nightmare, my own supplemental SSI is going to be cut off for a minimum of 1 to 2 months while my insurance company reduces my injury benefits to "life payments" in October. I've been disabled since 1998. I will be receiving only $95.80 (from my insurance company "life payments") a month until my supplemental SSI kicks back in after the mandatory waiting period. I humbly come to this website to ask for some help. If you could please spare anything I would be ever grateful. Even $5 gets me closer to my goal. I never expected the sudden death of my husband nor did I expect to be a young widow. Yet here I am. I've had about a month since his passing and and now the gravity of my situation has has set in through my immense grief. Setting up this campaign is my last resource of hope. Thank you to everyone who has shared my GoFundMe so far. If you haven’t donated yet, please consider donating $5 - $10 to get me closer to my goal. No donation is too small! Gratefully yours, Rachel
