* EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED! * Alex the min pin needs all of us to come together right now and pull off a miracle for him. And we only have 7 days to raise the needed funds. He came to SCRAPS in July, and it was determined that he was blind in one eye. After being evaluated by a vet, he was placed up for adoption and went to a new owner. They were supposed to be caring for him from the day he was adopted for the rest of his life, but this week he was returned having fallen from a second story balcony, likely due to depth perception issues, which resulted in shattering both his front legs.His adopter did not take him to the vet and based on the healing process, the injury happened at least 10 days ago, if not longer. All that he was offered was a poorly done wrap job in the adopter's home and when it became clear that wasn't fixing him, he was returned. He now needs full orthopedic surgery on both legs in order to have a pain free future. SCRAPS took it upon themselves to get a quote from WSU School of Veterinary Science and we learned that to fix Alex’s injuries, we will need to raise $6,000.00. WSU agreed to take on his surgical needs if we can pay $3,500.00 up front and they will allow us to pay off the remaining balance over the coming year. As of now, there are no other local rescues that have responded that can afford to take him in. We do not have the funds in place, but we will fight for Alex to have a second chance. SCRAPS has agreed to caring for Alex for an additional 7 days to give us time to raise the funds for his orthopedic surgery. If we can’t raise the funds to pay for his care, we will not take Alex in. With no other rescues able to get him the help he needs, he will likely be euthanized, as he has no other options. If we are not able to reach our goal, all donations will be refunded.
