Support Ashley's Unexpected Tragedy

Donation protected

My name is Camie, my best friend Ashley Mazalewski as most of you know but for those of you that do not, has been through yet another unfortunate, life changing, situation.
She was caring for a young, but 90 pound dog and without intention the dog went from what he thought was a game to what would affect her for the rest of her life. She was bitten multiple times in the arm in an accident that lasted many long minutes for her. She was rushed to the hospitaland a day later in surgery where they discovered that her interosseous membrane had been torn. The interosseous membrane divides the forearm into anterior and posterior compartments, serves as a site of attachment for muscles of the forearm, and transfers loads placed on the forearm. Since the bites went deep enough to the bones she had two pins placed in her wrist. Is a reason she is still in thr hospital being extremely high risk for an infection.
Before I get into what’s next to come for Ashley and her family let me explain a little bit about the woman, mother, aunt, daughter and best friend that she is. Ash lost her sister unexpectedly just over a year ago. Her sister left behind 2 beautiful girls, Destiny (13) and Cassidy (12). Ashley also has a daughter of her own Harper (8). Prior to her sisters passing Ashley had all three girls full time on and off for years because she was unselfishly helping her sister until she was able to get her own place here in Melbourne so that the girls could stay in what they have always known as the place they call home. Ashley took care of all 3 girls for multiple years on her own. Now she will forever have all three in her home like they were hers. As long as I’ve known Ash her children always came first, even when it was just Harper.
Ashley has had a rough year. It began when her own dog Bud started having unexplained seizures which led to completely changing his personality, uncontrollable accidents he would have of his own, and near blindness, she eventually had to put her best friend and loving dog of 9 Years to rest. All while still planning a summer vacation of a lifetime for her three daughters. She once again unselfishly put the girls first and took them on a week vacation up the coast and back not expecting to have to take care of herself just a month later from a life changing incident.
Now Ashley’s life will really never be the same. She will forever have scares to simply look down at and be reminded of yet another horrific day. She will have 2 weeks of at home IV treatment, physical therapy for an unknown amount of time, in 6 weeks the doctors will remove 2 pins from her wrist in hopes of almost full recovery but she will always have slight issues with mobility.
These things don’t change what still must go on. School begins in one week for these 3 girls and I’ve quickly realized the reality of back to school shopping and it’s not pretty or cheep. They grow like weeds and things only last for so long. With still at least one day in the hospital and no final number she has $60,000 in hospital bills, plus medication, and treatment. She’s in a hospital bed but still worried about her girls and concerned about their care and needs.
Any amount will help Ashley. She has bills at home, children and now health care bills with no insurance to assist her. She will be out of work for a number of weeks while still recovering. Thank you for taking your time and for your help. As you know it will mean the world to her and all three girls.
