Join with Jana - Conquering Cancer!

One of the first things you notice about Jana is that she oozes intentionality. No matter the situation, no matter the person she’s interacting with, they have her whole and undivided attention. There’s a warmth and kindness that radiates from her heart whenever you meet her. And nowhere has that been more evident than with the thousands of children that she’s taught at the First Baptist Learning Center. For twenty years, “Miss Jana” has been pouring her whole heart into forming an educational, emotional, and biblical foundation for children. She helps prepare them for kindergarten, but above all, her mission is to share the love of Jesus with her kids and their families. On top of them, she’s mentored dozens of young women and has been a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Every single part of her life has had a singular focus - loving people like Jesus and putting others’ needs before her own.In May, Jana went to the doctor for a routine gallbladder removal. When the procedure started, the doctor found a tumor wrapped around her bile duct on her pancreas. A few days later, the diagnosis came back as pancreatic cancer. For most people, news like this would shake them to the core. But while it was unexpected, Jana immediately said, “My life has always been in the Lord’s hands - how is this any different?” Because of its location, the tumor was deemed inoperable, so she was quickly started on an aggressive chemotherapy plan designed to shrink the tumor. After two months, the tumor markers weren’t going down like they should, which leads us to where we are today.Her next step is being admitted to the Immunity Therapy Center in Tijuana, Mexico. This alternative, holistic treatment facility has shown remarkable results, with 70% of cancer patients being fully cured! Jana will be spending three weeks in Mexico, and combined with the help of the doctors she’s already worked with in the U.S., we’re very optimistic about this new plan. Unfortunately, this is not covered by her insurance, which is where you can join in her fight. The total cost for this step of her journey will be $42,000. This includes $30,000 for the treatment, and $5,000 for airfare, lodging, food, and other necessities during her time in Mexico. We’ve calculated the rest to cover processing fees.
