The Smokin Shack

We are The Smokin Shack. Most know us as the chicken and waffle ladies. We started this company in 2010 delivering Chicken and Waffles during late night bar hours to college kids, who we felt shouldn't be driving intoxicated looking for food. It took off from there and we started a catering company. For the past several years we've been doing catering, delivery and have even built a food truck. We expanded so much over the past six months that we decided to go ahead and try to open a storefront and kitchen open to the public at the VFW building on Massachusetts Street. As most know we tried this before and due to a series of Unfortunate Events had to close. We are now back and stronger than ever, however dealing with some major financial difficulties. During our opening we ended up losing a delivery car as well as fracturing a wrist and that set us behind financially. We have exhausted all resources in trying to find backing to open a restaurant. As most know it's impossible for a small business to get a small business loan especially in the restaurant industry from any bank out there. We are really needing the community's help to bring this dream off the ground and to become a Lawrence stable. We have so many plans to put back into the community, but we just can't right now due to the fact that we just don't have any money left to do so. So we are reaching out.. anyone and everyone who is able to donate even if it's just a little bit will receive some sort of Smokin Shack merchandise as a thank you for your help in contributing to our dream. We will be having t-shirts printed off, glassware with our logo and gift certificates made up in the next week. We truly appreciate your continued support Lawrence Kansas.
