Berni Fund

Anyone who knows me will know my dogs, particularly Bernadette (Berni for short). On July 29th Berni woke up acting a little sore. Within a couple hours she has lost all use of her left rear leg, and is unable to walk. Being a Sunday I brought her right to Midwest animal hospital who accepts walk ins. After spending 3 hours there with no answers we headed off to VCA Aurora to see the neurologist. The exam showed decreased feeling in both rear legs, but much worse on her left side and that her problem is located in her lower lumbar section of her spine. She stayed with them overnight for observation and some additional testing and will have an MRI today. Depending on what that shows she may go onto surgery right from there. The quote for this with surgery is 7-9 thousand and without surgery should be about 4,000 depending on treatment from there. I just want the best for her and to be able to give her the best chance of regaining mobility.
