Ataxia Awareness
Donation protected
We are called ‘A Squared’, the fourth team based in Ellesmere Port, ages 15-16. We’re currently completing our two weeks of social action with NCS. If you haven’t already heard NCS stands for National Citizens Service and it’s all about raising awareness of various charities and giving back to the community. Ataxia UK is a charity that is researching to find a cure for a disease called Ataxia and supports those suffering with the disease. The charity hits close to home with one of our young people Owen Gittins who has said "Finding a cure would be lifechanging for me, my family and my most of all my sister, Amy, who is currently suffering from Friedreich's Ataxia. Stopping the gradual decline in her ability to do simple tasks would make a massive improvement to her life and her future. This would not only help Amy, but would also help our entire family as we will no longer have to watch her suffer anymore than she already has. Many other families are similarly affected by this disease which would make ending or reducing the suffering an unbelievable achievement"If you could help us raise money for our charity we will greatly appreciate it, thank you for your time.
