Walter’s Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Three years ago today, I was surfing dogs on my laptop on Petfinder during my lunch in my classroom.  I wanted a dog, but it was more of a three year goal.  I came across a picture I couldn’t look away from.  It was a little black terrier mix.  He was abandoned in Walmart aisle in Stockton.  Two days later, Walter had a name and a family.  Four pounds and two months old.

It was my son, Dante’s Valentine’s Day dream and surprise.  Actually, quite a surprise for all of us.

Fast forward to present.  Walter has made everyone’s life brighter.  He brings so much joy, therapy, good love, and calm to our world.  He has spirit and energy.  He is my daily get out the door onto the trail.  He is my come to bed, it’s late.  He is there for our children hanging on the couch or in the front car seat.  Walter is never, ever far.  He loves life so much.

Walter got out of our house on Thursday night.  It was dark and he’s little and black.  As I pulled away in my car, Walter ran down to stairs after me just as my neighbor was driving up.  He was hit pretty hard.  Miraculously, our little love made it through and to Pet Emergency.  He’s had a very challenging couple of nights with surgery to move internal organs and repair his bladder.

The costs are adding up fast and Walter will need more support once he does get to come home next week.  We are grateful he made it through like the scrappy, strong guy he is.  Walter is our glue and we need him in our lives.

We are grateful for everyone who is able to donate to help with Walter’s  medical costs.  He is such an important member of our family and any donation amount is appreciated.
