Jack's Situation

On 7/12/18 2 year old Jack Meyers was admitted to Hershey Medical Center for what they currently believe is a rare condition known as Autoimmune Encephalitis .  Jack is suffering from seizures, violent outbursts, heart-rate and blood pressure spikes, inability to communicate and loss of control of his limbs.  He has been on IV fluids and has been unable to swallow or eat for over a week, resulting in the use of a feeding tube and significant weight loss.

After days of blood tests, CT Scans, X-Rays, Spinal Taps, MRI's, etc., doctors have still been unable to confidently determine what is afflicting this precious little boy.  As the amazing medical team at Hershey Children's Hospital work tirelessly to get Jack back to normal, its hard to comprehend the helplessness and devastation that his family and friends are going through.

About Jack

Jack is going to be celebrating his third birthday this September and in that short time, he has touched so many lives with his infectious laugh and huge smile.

Jack is an active boy that enjoys music, dinosaurs , driving grandpa's boat, as well as his pet fish, cat, and pig.  But most of all he loves his mommy, daddy, and baby brother Charlie.

How You Can Help

Jack's parents have been at his side every second since he was admitted to the ICU, and they will be there every second until they get to take their little boy home.  This unfortunately means that they have both been unable to work, and will not be able to work for the foreseeable future.

As you may be aware, medical bills are the largest single contributor to bankruptcies in the United States.  Each year, over 650,000 people declare bankruptcy and cite medical bills as the primary reason.  That is over 60% of all cases in the U.S.

We are asking for funds to help cover their escalating medical bills, as well as care for their other son Charlie, who just turned 1 year old and is being lovingly cared for by his grandparents during this difficult time.

We appreciate you taking the time to read Jack's story, and it would be wonderful if you could help his family out during their darkest hour.
Help spread the word!
