5th grade to YMCA Camp Ihduhapi

Our school has over 600 students. We are a fully authorize International Baccalaureate School. We serve students in grades High-5 through 5th grade. Our school provides students with a strong academic foundation as critical thinkers who choose and act responsibly with respect for self, community, and the environment. We believe that all students can learn. The amount of effort that you put into everything will make a difference with your abilities academically, socially, and behaviorally.
87% of our students have free and reduced meals (breakfast/lunch), which is one of the highest in the state. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds (Latino-American, African-American, Native American, European-American, and Somali). Many of our students have special academic and behavioral needs, which include English Language Learners Services, Special Education Services, Autism, and Watercourse Mental Health Counseling.
With our students having the opportunity to take part in this program, you are helping kids’ dreams come true – while also building for a brighter tomorrow through creating well-rounded future leaders. We know this experience has the potential to change our student’s lives and challenge them to do things they never thought were possible. Students and staff are extrememly thankful for your help and donations to create this amazing experience!!
We are going to YMCA Camp Ihduhapi from October 25th-26th. We will be taking 90 students for a 2 day and 1 night experience. Our students will take part in 2 high initiative challenges, 1 low initiative class, and an environmental education class. The price includes a group t-shirt, sleeping bag, transportation, meals, and all the student activities and accommodations at camp. This trip fits into our IB Unit Who We Are. Students are challenging themselves and learning to use cooperation skills.
