5th Annual Kenyan Kids Christmas

Tax deductible
Providing Christmas Joy to Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Rural Kenya

A few years ago I met some of the strongest, bravest babies in the world. Babies who had lost their families, survived alone, struggled in poverty, were affected by AIDS, human trafficked, abused and neglected or had run away from other unspeakable atrocities.  Eventually these little angels found a home that would LOVE and CARE for them; this is where we met. I lived for a summer at the Kithoka Amani Children's Home (KACH) in Meru, Kenya with the kids who call it home, the "Aunties" who care for them, and the small community who loves them. The kids there have had hard lives and have struggled since day one. Regardless, they are the happiest kids I've ever met, with the most amazing souls.  I returned there in September of this year and was astonished by how much the little ones had grown. I got to hear stories of success, graduations, college courses and new careers! It was amazing the transformation some of these kids had undertaken; children who were struggling so deeply, who were now THRIVING!!!
This holiday season I hope to once again give all my friends at KACH a gift of joy and send the Christmas spirit far over the oceans and lands and to the heart of Kenya.  But I need your help!

We often spend our Christmas surrounded by family and the joy they bring, were often times full of food and excitement from gifts. The kids in Meru, Kenya are no different; except the family they keep is full of brothers and sisters from across Kenya, the joy they have isn't often from brand new gifts, its often from a communal movie or a donated used gift.

~~~~~~~~We are trying to raise at least~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~$30 US dollars for each child~~~~~~~
*~$5 for a small toy, $5 for a book & $20 for an outfit. ~*

For the last 4 years we have sent Christmas to KACH. With the extra money we provided, the kids have chosen to buy a few extra pieces of clothes or food for neighborhood children in the impoverished village of Kithoka. Imagine the gift of love given when an orphan child gives up an extra shirt or gift, and instead gifts his or her extra to another child in need.
Dr Karambu Ringera and her team at KACH will be the purchaser of these gifts in Meru. The gifts will be purchased locally to Help support local economy and save money to stretch each dollar to its greatest gift potential. We will send donations a week before Christmas and again in early January in case of late submissions. Every donation is accounted for twice over and pictures will be sent after the holiday of the children and their gifts. I (Heather Boyd) personally account for every dollar spent, any extra is allotted to a holiday meal or spent on something for all of KACH.  Such as extra library books, a holiday meal, bedding, school supplies, etc.
