Abby’s Angels

Many of you know that Abby has been struggling with medical issues that have become life threatening and have caused her to not be able to walk. These mobility issues have quickly gotten worse over the past six months. Medical tests have revealed a compression of her brain stem which will require specialized neurosurgery to try to correct. The nature of the surgery and Abby’s Down Syndrome have caused the process of finding a surgeon to be significantly more complicated than anticipated. There is a nationally known neurosurgeon in Salt Lake City, Utah who has agreed to take Abby’s case and is confident he will be able to perform the surgery in a way that gives Abby the best chance of survival and recovery. Donations will go towards travel and extended stay costs in Utah for the two weeks or more needed for the surgery. Donations will also help with all medical costs associated with the surgery and follow-up care and rehabilitation after the surgery. A special bank account has been set up for Abby’s expenses.
