Help Save Rigg’s Life

A lot of you probably know already, our sweet pup, Riggs was tested positive for Parvo on Tuesday.
We immediately took him to Pilchuck Animal hospital to start treatment. After some success; elevated white blood cell count, hydration and the ability to keep food down, he was discharged after 24 hours.
We came home and decided it was the right thing to do, to inform our neighbors, who had a pup the same age as ours, of Riggs’s condition. They proceeded to tell us that their pup had just died two days earlier from Parvo, after spending the last week running around our front yard. We were devastated at their lack of knowledge and and precautions regarding the disease and our pup.
Fast forward two days later, Riggs had been home since Wednesday morning and had not eaten since he left the Vet about 8am. He took a turn for the worst in the 48 hours he was home. He could not keep down any water or meds, and refused all food.
I took him in this morning to the VCA in Lynwood to have him re-examined, only to be told his condition was now critical and if we took him home, he would inevitably lose this battle.
We made the decision to leave him at the hospital in the ICU in hopes of saving his life.
This is where we are asking for help. We are selling our house in an effort to avoid the negligence and threats to our children and dog we have received from these new neighbors.
We are stretched so thin, but Riggs deserves a fighting chance.
If you are feeling compelled or a tug on your heart to donate to his vet needs, we would greatly appreciate any help that is given.
We are humbled by the many kind words, thoughts and prayers we have received for our sweet boy, and we are hoping he will make a full recovery.
This incident is costing us close to $7,000, and that number is climbing the longer he has to be in the ICU.
