In spite of countless life endangering surgeries and medical issues Dee champions life and surpasses expectations for Recovery time in and time again. In 2017 & 2018 she had life threatening surgeries and infections which can not ever be completely eradicated from her internally. Her life is always precarious. The hardest part is her being totally bedridden for over a year. At 45 she can only look out a window or leave in an ambulance. I am working to get help to get her back up.
I started this fundraiser so I could give her some comfort and keep her at home where she thrives. YOUR help keeps Dee home so she can be well taken care of and be part of her family. One of the challenges is that when she is hospitalized our living expenses fall so far behind from my missing income that even medical supplies which Medicare does not pay for become difficult to obtain. My insulin alone is often not within reach and I go without it more often than not.
If we were fortunate enough to raise enough funds I would use it for first and last month rent on an accessible apartment and moving expenses. We have very little room here. Right now we are in a small studio. Our car needs repairs. It runs but needs work.
We are grateful even for small donations that help with day to day items. We use donations to keep a roof over our heads as well as medical supplies and copays. I need to recharge my batteries and take care of me as well.
Dee is not only my daughter — she is my HERO. She is also my spiritual teacher. She has taught me to try even when all is against success. She has taught me to speak up and push forward. I have tried to give her a home no matter what and we have huge “no matter whats”.
Our doctors, the VNA, and community friends can vouch for us. I realize there are scams out there and unfortunately it hurts those of us who really need a big boost. Please get to know us and consider helping us. It’s been 45 years and we have never turned to the community for help. We have no choice now.
