Louis Kidney Transplant Fund
Donation protected
Louis Calvert is a 31 year old cancer survivor from Yonkers, New York.
He has spent the last 6 years (over 20,000 hours) on dialysis. Nevertheless, he is determined about living well, and being an inspiring role model. Louis has remained employed as an accountant throughout this ordeal and has never gone out on dissability. He recently finished his masters degree in accounting from Iona’s school of business, and joined a prestigious accounting firm in NYC. He is currently studying for parts of the CPA exams.
On september 17, 2018 Louis received a kidney from a kidney donor who passed away unexpectedly. He is thankful for her and her family’s decision to donate her organs inspite of their tragedy. He has also dedicated his life to furthering the positive message of organ donation, and dismantling the misconceptions surrounding the process.
Since the transplant occurred only 2 weeks into his new job, he does not have access to most of his benefits package. Louis needs funds to meet his existing insurance deductible, copays etc, commuting expenses to doctors for numerous follow ups, and funds to cover day to day living expenses for a period of 3-4 weeks.
Please consider donating towards his goal here on gofundme.
At the date of this writting, we have raised 35% of the fundraiser’s goal. Every little bit you can give helps!
Thank you.
