Selina Strong

In February, our sweet Selina was diagnosed with an inoperable, incurable tumor in her brain stem, DIPG. Shortly after diagnosis, Selina suffered a seizure which resulted in a severe hematoma and swelling on her brain.  She has been in a semi-comatose state since the seizure.  After undergoing 30 radiation treatments, Selina's most recent MRI shows that the tumor has shrunk.  She is slowly regaining some of the skills she lost and is now responsive.  She has been breathing on her own for several weeks. Now, she is responding to questions with hand movements, getting stronger every day!  She is an amazingly strong little girl!  The hope and prayer is that she will continue to grow stronger every day and regain her speech.  The plan is for the Oehmens to take their sweet daughter home in the coming weeks.  Preparation has already begun and a handicap  accessible ramp has been built at their home.  There is still a lot to do, that insurance will not cover, including rental of a handicap accessible van and co-pays. Please consider helping the Oehmens, who have handled this ordeal with such grace and humility.  Selina's condition is incurable, but the treatments that she has endured will give her time with her family.  Please help Michelle and Ken bring their little girl home.
