Kitichapweza has 3 wishes

Imagine begging on the street because you are hungry. Imagine the danger you might face. Imagine going to school (if you are lucky enough) with nothing in your belly and not being sure there will be much to eat when you get home.


Kitichapweza supports children who beg on the streets into education. We give them a hot meal a day. We work with their families, helping them identify how they can better support themselves economically and emotionally.

But that doesn’t feel enough and we have 3 wishes
This is our first wish;
The school most of our sponsored children go to has 400 children. 95% of them come to school hungry and leave hungry too. We dream (and so does the school) of giving these children a cup of uji (porridge) for their breaktime. This will keep their bellies full, their bodies developing as they should and their minds ready for the learning challenges ahead.

This is our second wish...
We also want to offer more activities in the big school holiday. In Kenya, children have 2 months off over November and December. Our ‘Football, feelings and food’ project trains 20 boys weekly who would otherwise hang around the streets begging for money and food. We want to extend this to at least twice a week during this time AND offer a week long mentorship programme.

Our final big wish is that this Christmas we feed our families. The families of our football boys, the families of our sponsored children. A simple food package. Flour, oil, soap, sugar, tea, maybe even a chicken.

We are registered as a Community Based Organisation with the Kenyan authorities. We take no expenses and no wage from your donations. 100% of what you donate goes straight to the community.
