Get Oliver Walking Again
Oliver is my Sweet, Silly best buddy. He loves to play and go for walks with me. As you all know, I love my dog so much it's ridiculous.
Last Friday, he blew out his ACL in his hind leg. Now he can no longer stand on that leg. He just hops around. Oliver can't jump on to the sofa or play or stick his head out the window when we drive somewhere. It's breaking my heart.
We have seen the Vet and he has to have surgery. This is major surgery for a dog. He will have to be off of his leg for 8 to 12 weeks.
Unfortunately, the surgery will cost between $2500 - $5000. There will be additional costs in seeing the vet before and after the surgery, for follow up care.
I only recently started my own tutoring business and I have no way to pay for this surgery. I'm trying to sell everything I can think of to get him the surgery ... my furniture, garage sales, etc. But I simply cannot make that kind of money.
I applied for CareCredit but was unable to get any funds from them due to my recent 2 years of unemployment. During that time, I almost lost my house. That was just 1.5 years ago and so my credit report will not allow me to get CareCredit.
If you could help donate to the "Get Oliver Walking" fund, he could have his surgery and get back on his legs again and hopefully walk, play and run again.
This money would only be used to pay for the Vet bills.
Oliver has to have his surgery as soon as possible because if he doesn't, his leg muscles will atrophy and then any surgery in the future will not have as good an outcome as having the surgery quickly.
I am just sick about all of this. I can't make myself go for walks right now without him. He is so sad limping and hopping on his 3 legs.
I really hate asking for this help, but I don't know where to turn. I have not been able to sleep since it happened. I will be forever grateful to you if you can help out Oliver.
