Rallying For Rick

Donation protected
On May 25th, our dad, grandpa, papa, brother and friend, Rick Sronce, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Doctors found a large tumor in the head of his pancreas and, due to interference with a main artery, we were told that the tumor was inoperable. After a few days in the hospital, and a successful procedure to improve the flow through his gastrointestinal tract, he was able to go home. We spent countless hours researching our options and possible courses of treatment. The decision was made to start a very aggressive regimen of chemo with hopes that the tumor will respond in a positive manner, ultimately enabling us to travel to the University of Louisville for an aggressive and high risk procedure.

Unfortunately, he didn’t respond well to the chemo treatment. The morning after his first treatment, we found him incoherent and unable to speak. He couldn’t remember his name or any of his family. He was rushed to the emergency room via ambulance and admitted to the hospital where he stayed for 3 days. He is now home and on the mend. We will revisit the oncologist soon to determine a new course of treatment.

We are Rallying For Rick! We are asking for prayers, positive thoughts and support through the next phases of this journey. For those who are able to contribute financially, all donations will go directly towards the expenses associated with the procedure in Louisville as well as expenses related to his on-going care and treatment. Rick has two mottos that he has carried with him throughout his lifetime:Tough Times Don’t Last. Tough People Do.andMentally Tough. Physically Fit. (MTPF)These mottos will become increasingly important in order for him to successfully navigate this challenge. T-shirts that incorporate both of these mottos will be available for anyone who would like to show support for Rick. Please email [email redacted] with your t-shirt orders.
