I am Damion Wood I've been involved martial arts 34 years.
Starting my journey age 12 ending last year on a high, as WJKA World Champion.
Although always one of my goals, when ending my competitive career as World Champion, I still didn't feel quite fulfilled, and felt it should of been more than just about me winning. Which is why I've decided to have one last fight with all profits going to a charity close to my heart. Which I also have supported personally for the last 3 years. Whilst we see a lot of cancer charities about,the majority are adult charities .we do tend to associate cancer with the older generation and forget the children struggling with this horrible disease too. Having have had a brief scare myself last year, was scary enough for me as a grown man. So to see and hear what these children and parents go through, having 4 of my own, the thought of one of your own doesn't bear thinking about.
This fight will be my last and probably one of the most challenging fights I'll have in every way. I hope to raise as much as I can for the children and make as much difference as I can even if it be just one little persons life. Obviously the goal is £3000 which if I reach is great .... But if it goes beyond ....even better. Any donation whether it be £1 or £10 whatever you can spare will be more than appreciated
