Shocking Shocking Story!
Joshua Brown, former lone soldier from South Africa was violently attacked and stabbed several times in Beit Shemesh last Thursday night the 03/07/2019. Joshua is a kind and caring individual who was minding his own business at a bus stop on his way back to the Technion University in Haifa where he studies engineering when three drunk men looking for a fight approached Josh as their targeted victim. After numerous attempts by Josh to distance himself from the three assailants, they pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the eye. After a 10 to 15 second scuffle between Josh and the assailants who were unable to overpower Josh, they attempted to run away. Josh pursued his assailants and caught one. He then phoned the police and continued to hold onto this assailant for ten minutes until the police arrived and arrested the assailant . Josh is now recovering in hospital after a two-hour reconstructive surgery for his eye and several more stab wounds on his back. He still does not know if his eye will recover and will need to undergo further procedures.
Joshua was a lone soldier who came on Aliyah to Israel in 2013 with the dream of serving his country. Josh served as a commander in the paratroopers Brigade for three years. After being discharged from the IDF Josh started studying engineering at the prestigious Technion University in Haifa. Josh has done this all on his own and he has funded all his dreams through hard work and determination without any parental or family support. It will be a long road to recovery and due to his injuries Josh will not be able to work and support himself in the near future let alone the other costs he will have to incur because of this outrageously disturbing situation. Please we would appreciate any help we can get, or any contribution to help Josh get out of this awful mess and back onto his feet.
