Gift Of Life Long Island Mt. Marcy

I’m James LaMantia, Chairman for Gift of Life Long Island. Gift of Life is the number one leading charity in the world saving the lives of children from emerging countries who are born with congenital heart disease. In 42 years of existence, we have saved over 30,000 lives in 79 countries and are currently performing over 2,000 procedures a year.

I am planning a fundraiser to climb Mount Marcy, the highest peak in New York State on August 14, 2018 where I will hoist the Gift of Life Long Island banner on the summit. I have never attempted anything of this magnitude and at 5344 feet in elevation, it will be challenging. My goal is to raise $2 per foot or $10,688. The Rotary Club of Northport, my sponsor, will match up to $5344. In raising over $10,000, we will save the lives of 4 children. Imagine what we can do with $15K, or $20K?
