We have started this campaign to help with the overwhelming medical costs of my cousin’s cancer treatments & surgeries. He is not even two and has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. His parents Antwan West and Jackie Bettencourt need your help. An intensive treatment plan is in place..... below is his story shared by his mom ...Okay well here it goes. Our son, Mehkai Cole West was diagnosed 5/29/18 with Neuroblastoma."Neuroblastoma starts in certain very early forms of nerve cells, most often found in an embryo or fetus. (The term neuro refers to nerves, while blastoma refers to a cancer that affects immature or developing cells.)This type of cancer occurs most often in infants and young children. It is rare in children older than 10 years. In Mehkai's case his cancer covers his entire left lung, up into his throat a little and into the upper abdomen, with the tumor pushing his trachea into the right side of his throat and chest. He was diagnosed at a stage 3/4 because of the size of the tumor. We are so thankful for his pediatrician who ordered the blood work that led to the discovery of his condition. Thankfully it is beatable and he can survive with treatment and everyone rooting for him. We want to let everyone know that we have a lot going on with his treatment and testing currently, so if we dont get back to you right away please send us a text again. It gets pretty crazy, and it's very fast, so we do forget to write back. We also want to thank everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers we have gotten from everyone over the past week, we really needed it. We have a long road ahead of us about a years worth of treatments and surgeries. We are gonna go at this cancer hard and Mehkai will be a survivor!! #MehkaiStrong
