2018 San Diego Surge Womens Football

Women’s football had been a part of the San Diego community for over a decade. What started as a passion for the sport back in 2001 has continued over the years and into the 2018 season. Our overall franchise record is a very impressive 63-10, with one National Championship and three American Conference titles. The Surge are considered one of the most elite teams in the nation, and we are proud of all of the accomplishments that our entire staff, organization and players have brought to the community of San Diego. Our mission is to provide exposure for the sport of Women’s Football while competing at the highest level possible by stressing the importance of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and honesty. We will accomplish our mission by continually striving to become better players, coaches and citizens of our communities on and off the field. The ugly truth about this sport is that players do not get paid to get pay, we do not have large corporate sponsorships and we find ourselves having to ask for assistance once again. We are coming up against a playoff scenario that has us home against a very tough Pacific Northwest Team, then back on the road to Utah once again, only to have to fly to Austin Texas if our plans are successful. Most teams do not have to incur one air flight, while the Surge are potentially now faced with having to fly 35 players and coaches three times. It is truly the crutch of this sport and the one thing that has caused the great teams to retire due to funding issues. Unfortunately , we will become one of those statistics unless we can find some answers fast. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please help these players! Thank you for your support.
