Dad's death/ back payments

my father had testicular cancer and passed away last November 2017. I was living in caldwell Idaho with my mother at the time. I was 17 when he passed away. when I turned 18 I moved back to my home town manti Utah to take over my fathers mortgage on his house. I have been living in the house for the last 6 months. I went to the bank that has the loan with my dad and the told me while I was in Idaho after he passed no-one was making payments to the house. I want to be able to put the house in my name but the bank won't let me intel I make up the back payment. the house is in foreclosure and I'm not sure what to do. I have already be appointed executor of the estate.
