Intro!
Who are we doing this for?
After a few talks we decided we would raise money for 2 charities namely BEAT and SASH - both of these charities have helped us in a low point in our lives one way or another.
About us!
So, our names are Suzan (17) and Keah (19) we both have a history with mental health and wanted to start raising funds for 2 charities which are very close to us. We decided a good way of doing this would be with Color Obstacle Rush ( which is in Newcastle)
Both of us have suffered from Eating Disorders which is why we have chosen BEAT and both of us have ended up without a safe environment which is where SASH came into our plans to raise money for.
We have both been in situations which we WISH upon nobody which is why we want to donate to these charities because both help people in low low points in life.
About BEAT!
Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. It began life in 1989 as the first national charity for people with eating disorders. Keah and Suzan have both used BEAT as a way of getting better and finding useful resources. BEAT is the most “well known” charity for eating disorders in the UK and we felt due to personal connection it was worth donating to them.
About SASH!
SASH is a registered charity preventing homelessness in young people aged 16 to 25 throughout North and East Yorkshire. When young people are facing homelessness, SASH can offer a spare room in the home of a trained volunteer and support to move forward. Due to both Suzan and Keah being in something called “SASH Supported Lodgings” we felt it was only right that we donate to SASH as our second charity for helping us get out of a rough situation.
