Help Save Scruff

Donation protected
***********UPDATE 4/25/18**********
I have been very hesitant to make this request because of the overwhelming response we have already received! But, we have had several donors ask us to go ahead and increase the goal amount to cover the amount needed for scruffys FULL recovery. We originally were only asking for help with the life or death scenario we were facing with him after the accident. We are thankfully past that scary part of this journey and are now on to funding his care to be able to come back home. This will include 2 surgeries (one of which has been funded), a plasmapheresis (plasma transfer), and just general post-op care in the hospital. The goal of $4500 has been met and will cover his first surgery. This new goal will be intended to cover the remaining amounts of his care. We are so so very grateful for everyone that has helped save our fur baby’s life and avoid amputation of his leg! Please see his story below and watch for continuous updates, pictures, and billing reports to show exactly where the funds are being used! Thank you again!
***********UPDATE 4/25/18**********

Our sweet Scruffagus was hit by a truck sunday morning in Mena. He suffered multiple soft tissue injuries including heart and lung damage, as well as a broken tibula and fibula. He is currently in the ICU here in oklahoma city and requires 24/7 monitoring for the next 48hours due to his breathing and irregularities with his heart. He is on a constant heart monitor as well as a constant IV drip for pain management. They are unable to treat his broken leg at all at this point because of being unstable with the soft tissue damage. We have already paid $1263 for his care so far. And this is only the first day. We are looking at a low end estimate of $815/day for his continued care in ICU plus $2243 to cover the surgery he needs to repair his leg and avoid amputation. We are asking for help to get scruffy 2 more days of care in the ICU as recommended by the ICU vet and then his surgery after he is stable enough to endure the procedure. They feel he has a good prognosis if he can make it through these 48 hours in ICU without his heart giving out on him. We of course dont have the monitors and equiptment at home to care for him. So our only option is to cover the cost of the ICU or take him home with the chance of cardiac arrest. This sweet boy is only 9 months old. He deserves the chance to live out the rest of his life. We have exhausted all other options financially at this point including our care credit limit...asking for outside help is our very last resort.
Please follow the updates, i will keep them posted as we learn more.
