Mini Marathon For Breast Cancer

Hi, my name is Catriona. I am going to to do the Mini Marathon this year on Sunday 03rd June for Breast Cancer Ireland, to assist ongoing research and awareness efforts. 1 in 9 women will develop this awful disease in their lifetime, 2800 new cases here in Ireland every year and 15% of these cases are in women under 44. Thanks to research and awareness the survival rates are good, me being one of those survivors. My journey took me through a whirlwind of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment in the last year; but I am now out the other side thanks to all the treatments and research into this horrible disease. I am now participating (along with 4,600 women around the world) in a clinical trial aimed at finding more effective therapies for others who will be diagnosed in the future. This campaign is the start of me giving a little something back to the wonderful teams who have helped me throughout my journey.
