Grant's Second-Semester Debating

My name is Grant Brown, and I am a Lincoln-Douglas Debater and Junior at Millard North Highschool in Omaha, Nebraska. I am raising money to help fund my ability to debate in the second semester of this year. Currently, I have had an extremely successful season, making it to elimination rounds of every national level tournament I have attended this year, recieving five bids to the Tournament of Champions in Kentucky. However, our financial resources have started to become stretched to their limits, and the ability to attend tournaments such as the Harvard Invitational, and post-season tournaments like the Tournament of Champions, and Nationals require additional funding that would require help external to our internal support system. 

Both of my parents are on government disability, with my father having been on disability for approximately seven years, and my mother likewise on disability for approximately three years. Our amazing support system has allowed me up to this point to be able to debate within the midwest, and last year, at the Tournament of Champions and Nationals. However, medical bills, upcoming potential college visits, and other circumstances has put our ability to fund my debating behind the mass opportunities that have begun to present themselves. 

Debate has been an activity that has shaped my life, empowered me as a person, and changed my outlook on what was possible for me to achieve, in ways that I could never predict. This activity has given me inroads to things that I never would of imagined in my wildest dreams would have been possible, and I can only hope to continue to experience such opportunities that I am so greatful to be allowed. 

Money raised will directly fund my ability to debate second semester, and will help pay for things such as lodging, travel, and expenses such as food on the trips I attend.
