Dad's Make A Wish Bucket List Fund
This is my dad Ben baity, he was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer last year and after having months of chemo, radiation and having his esophagus completely removed we thought he beat it. Unfortunately we were wrong. His last tests confirmed that is has come back in his leg and his liver, and now is terminal. The doctors say with treatment he has maybe 6 months maybe a little more if he responds well to more radiation and chemo. As the news is heartbreaking for our family we don't want him to live out the rest of however many days he has left in misery from the treatments. We want him to have the best summer he could possibly dream of having. And if you've ever met my dad you know that live music is his life. That being said I am raising money to be able to take him to as many of the festivals happening this summer so he can be in his happiest place on Earth. High Sierra, Phish, string cheese, dead winter Carpenters are all major bucket list items for him and if I can make that possible for him before that day comes I will rest easier knowing he enjoyed the time he had left. Any donations you can make even 5 bucks helps and it is all going to make sure a great guy who's touched the lives of so many gets the best send off anyone could ask for.+ Read More
The outpouring of support and donations has been unbelievable, dad is feeling a bit better than before now that he's had his first round of chemo and is determined to get stronger so he can dance under the stars this summer. The last three days have certainly proven how much he is truly loved by all of his friends both near and far. We are over halfway to our goal and I am overwhelmed with gratitude please keep the donations coming and I can't wait to meet those of you this summer who are going to be at the shows. I'd love to give each of you a a big hug. You guys are amazing!
So not the best news ever, dad is being admitted into the hospital at Mercy San Juan to start chemo and get a handle on the pain. Hopefully it works, I pray something does cause I don't know how much more pain he can take. But I pray that they find a magic remedy and he's able to dance his ass off at the shows if you want to visit him while he's in the hospital please do I'm positive he would love to see some of his people. And unfortunately I cannot be down here with him the whole time since I do have kia family that needs me as well. Let's hope that this turn of events means a better handle on pain if not completely pain free. I'd love to see that happen but I'd settle for mildly inconvenienced. Thank you for all your support to those that have donated and shared this page. You guys are amazing
So we have tickets to dead and company and a pair of tickets to high Sierra, we're trying to get two more to high Sierra so my hubby and brother can go so I have some help over the 4 days otherwise Its going to be extremely exhausting for me if I am the only one there to take care of him. He had his check up with the surgeon today for follow up from the rod placement. Physical therapy starts on Friday i hope, then maybe he'll start gaining some strength and be able to do things he enjoys again. Still no radiation on his leg till he's able to straighten it out all the way and lay down for an hour. Otherwise they can't map where they need to focus it. It's been a very stressed few weeks but the shows are like the light at the end of the tunnel. If we can just get him well enough that he can dance a lil and melt faces one more time then I will know it has all been worth it. Thank you so much to those who have donated, your donations have helped in so many ways, from paying for his Drs appointments when his Dr stopped taking his insurance and failed to let us know, to paying for the meds he needs that his insurance won't cover and getting a rack for my car so he can use a power chair instead of his walker to get around when were not at home. And of course not to mention the ability to get him into his favorite shows that he absolutely wanted to see one more time before he leaves this world and goes on to the next. The only one we don't have tickets for yet is Phish but we're hoping to make it happen. With your donations it's possible.
Thanks to a wonderful donation we have tickets for him to dead and company! So we've got three more concerts to go. High Sierra which is on his birthday and Phish in Tahoe, and possibly burning man depending on how he's doing then. He really wants to experience it one more time and We're getting close to our goal but we still need your help to make his bucket list a reality. Please share, and if you can donate please do. Even 5 dollars gets us that much closer to making this a reality.
