Help Dad Beat Cancer!

Donation protected
My brother, sister, and I never imagined that we would be sitting down to write this message to all of our friends and family.  A couple weeks ago our dad, Greg, was diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal Cancer. It probably goes without saying that this rocked our world and we are still processing this very unexpected and unfamiliar reality.  Dad has touched so many lives as a Christian husband, son, father, brother, papa, coach, and community volunteer. We simply can’t imagine life without him and are trusting in God for a multitude of counsel and effective treatment.

The journey has begun and we are already beginning to see the financial toll that this will take on our mom and dad.  The bills are rolling in as the doctor’s appointments become more frequent and Dad will soon begin treatment, which unfortunately will not be fully covered by insurance.  The standard form of chemotherapy recommended by one of the oncologists we’ve met with is one that only extends his prognosis by a few months. Thankfully, we have found hope in some supplementary treatments that will make the chemo more effective and increase Dad’s chances of killing the cancer!

We know that Dad won’t be able to work full time through this process and living in a rural area means travel and accommodations, in and out of state, for his appointments and treatment.  Mom continues to work every day as a teacher’s aide, but this will become erratic as she travels with and helps Dad through everything. This is a burden they cannot bear by themselves, which is why we’ve set up this fundraiser.  Please help us in supporting our parents through this challenging time. Regardless of the amount, whatever you are able to contribute will be greatly appreciated and make a huge difference.
Thank you so much for your generosity and the love and friendship you have shown our family over the years!

Most importantly please pray that God will give Mom and Dad strength and that He will fully heal Dad’s body of this cancer.  Glory to God in all things!
