Help us help Elmer! This super sweet and affectionate boy was a stray roaming the streets of Philly when he became the victim of a gun shot. He was shot in his hind left leg and he is currently at ACCT Philly where his wounds were treated to an extent but due to limited resources and funding, could only be treated enough to hold him over for the time being. He will need further medical care/possible surgery to ensure his wound heals properly and to prevent infection. We are currently working on getting him into foster care so he can get the necessary medical attention and so he can have a comfortable place to heal. His time is limited at a kill shelter so we are doing everything we can to make it possible for him to have a chance at a happy and healthy life. He is a wonderful dog with a sweet personality and will make a great pet but we need you help so it can all be possible. All donations will go toward getting this boy the medical care he needs!

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who donated to help out Elmer. The support we received is humbling to say the least. They say it takes a village in the rescue world and truer words were never spoken! Because of your generosity, Elmer is on the road to recovery and will get his second chance at a good life, as every dog deserves. So from all of the volunteers at ACCT (many of who also donated), the rescue who pulled him and his foster mom we would like to give you one very big THANK YOU!!!! Here is our boy, leg in cast but warm and toasty in his new sweater courtesy of his wonderful foster mom who is taking such great care of this special boy!
