My Student's VOICE

Recently we have introduced two students to LAMP- words for life. It is a communication app for students who have little to no functional speech (or are nonverbal)..... in the last few weeks they have already picked up on "eat", "drink", "yes", "no" and "more". Before they were introduced to this app, they had no way to communicate. I try to put myself in their shoes- if I could not communicate or express even my basic wants or needs I would be so frustrated and angry with everyone..... access to this app has decreased negative behavior and increased their happiness in the classroom dramatically. The problem is this app is only on the iPads at school. One of my students now has her own iPad; however, we want the app on her iPad so that she can use this at home to communicate as well and become more proficient in using it to speak...... it is typically 300 dollars.... BUT April 2-April 4, it is half off at 150 dollars because autism awareness day is April 2!!!! SO I'm trying to raise this money so that we can get her access to this app at home as well as school, I want to give her a VOICE!!! Anything helps! Remember we only have TWO days!! Also, I want to send her mother to the training for this device which cost 90 dollars....This will help her parents know how to use the device, how to individualize it, and how it helps with communication....I will be at that training as well with her and we will be getting the training together in order to better teach this communication to the students. Please keep in mind that there are fees associated with GoFundMe, so that is why the price is a little higher. (Do not worry, I am SURE soon we will be doing some fundraising for the other student in my class who has started using this app as well, we are honestly trying to do everything we can to give them a permanent voice!)
