Save Simba

As most of you are aware, my dog Simba was seized by the police on 3rd December 2015, when he was just 15 months old. This was due to him getting into my previous neighbour's garden on a few occasions, despite me trying my best to secure the fencing. During the time he was in the neighbour's garden, Simba did not harm anyone! The neighbour then reported this to the local dog warden, who came to visit us at home. He heard Simba 'crying' whilst he was in the house, as he wanted to say hello. I chose not to let Simba into the dog warden as he is a big dog and can be excitable. The dog warden then said that he would need to come to visit us again to scan Simba for a microchip. He came again two days later and insisted that I bring Simba straight into the living room, despite me telling him that Simba could be wary of strange men (although he had never bitten anyone!) When Simba came into the living room, he stood by the table and urinated, which was clearly out of fear. He then barked a couple at the warden, who insisted it was fine. Whilst the warden was filling in some paperwork, Simba nipped him on his hand. This left a slight red mark and did not break the skin! This was then reported to the police which led to Simba being seized. Since Simba was seized, he has been assessed by an expert who stated that he would NOT constitute a danger to the public. I have attended an interview at the police station, where I refused to sign Simba over to be 'destroyed.' I have attended hearings at the Magistrates court, where it was ordered that Simba be destroyed. I then appealed this decision and attended a hearing at the Crown court, where the destruction order for Simba was upheld. Despite being told that there was no further way to fight to keep Simba alive, I asked several people for advice and managed to find a solicitor that was happy to take on the case. The only way forward is to go through a Judicial Review in the High Court, which I need permission for by a judge. The process has already started and paperwork has been sent to the courts, so I am awaiting any further news. The cost of going through this process is very high and legal aid is not available for it. At the moment, I am overdue with bills from the solicitors. The current stage we are at is going to cost around £1,600 which is why this is the goal. Simba has now spent two Christmas' away from home, locked in a kennel away from everyone and everything he knows! I appreciate each and every bit of support from you all, whether that be through donations or even just kind words but if at all possible, a donation, no matter how small would make such a huge difference! Thank you again xxx
