Baby Jase And Family Preemie Fund

My pregnancy with my son Jase was pretty much smooth sailing with no complications until a couple days before March 7 2018 when he decided to make his entrance into the world 3 months early, my original due date was June 5 2018. I started to swell all over, had extreme migraines and suddenly put on 16 pounds in two weeks time of water retention. After a couple days of blood pressure medication not controlling my symptoms, my lab results came back and I was told to check into the maternity ward at the hospital immediately. They gave me magnesium to stop me from having a seizure and all methods to try to control my blood pressure. Unfortunately, my blood pressure kept rising and there was no other option then to perform an emergency c section on me immediately to save me and my son due to a condition called severe preeclampsia. Jase was born into this world at 1 pound 4 ounces and 11 1/2 inches long. He is currently in the NICU at Children's hospital in Pittsburgh. Jase is on a ventilator to support his breathing and just recently started receiving small doses of my breast milk through a feeding tube. He also is receiving blood transfusions for his red blood cell count to stay normal, as well as lipids and electrolytes to support his immunity and growth. This is a very overwhelming time for the family. We live in DuBois, PA and the drive to Pittsburgh is over a 2 hour trip one way. I also was not expecting to be out of work until closer to June and Johnathan has had to miss numerous days of work between myself being in the hospital after Jase was delivered and trying to spend time with our son in Pittsburgh. Jase has a long road ahead of him. Any help that can take the stress off of us would help us focus on our beautiful miracle to getting one step closer to good health and coming home.
