Kidney For Travis
Donation protected
Travis E. Zavala was born happy and healthy in Venita, OR on December 29th, 1980. However, when he was 3 years old his parents rushed him to the hospital with blood in his urine. The doctors diagnosed him with hereditary nephritis- a genetic disorder that most commonly causes renal failure. His first transplant was at age 19. Thankfully his mom, Kim, was a match and immediate donator whose miraculous kidney sustained Travis for an unexpected 15 years before failing in December 2016. My future brother-in-law currently undergoes dialysis 3 times per week while remaining an active and loving partner to my sister, Alana, and father to my 3 year old nephew, Kapena. As the testing of possible donors nears we’re hoping to raise money to help Alana and Travis pay for his second transplant. Any amount would be greatly appreciated by not only Travis but his growing family who need this wonderful man in our lives. As the condition and doctor visits have made employment both physically and mentally draining, we need the support of the community now more than ever! Every family has difficult times, so even if you have nothing to spare, please keep Travis, Alana, and Kapena in your good thoughts and prayers!Mahalo nui loa
