Mateen Family Tornado Relief Fund

I'm doing this for a friend of mine who is too ashamed to ask for help, despite being in a time of real need.

Many of you reading this may know sister Tauheedah Mateen and if you don't, simply put, she's an extremely hard working, single mother of 6 boys. 

In her own words... "I did not want to do this because I never wanted to feel as if I was begging. I work very hard. I am a single Mother of 6 sons. I was married but he is no longer with us...unfortunately we pretty much lost what we had." 

A few months ago, at the end of March of 2018, a tornado struck her neighborhood causing severe damage to her home in Fairburn, Georgia. Thankfully she, nor her 6 boys were present at the time. The roof of the home was severely damaged and partially collapsed, which allowed for flooding and water damage all through the house. All of the family's possessions -furniture, TV's, clothes, etc- were destroyed with very little being salvaged. And since at the time she lacked tornado coverage, as a homeowner she is forced to pay out of pocket for her home repairs. This includes repairing or replacing: water damage/molded flooring, roofing, windows, furniture, and various structural damages - totaling an estimated $35,000

As a result of these factors, Tauheedah and her boys have been virtually homeless and were forced to be separated - staying with various family, or friends where possible. She just recently got approved for a small apartment, but of course that too comes with expenses, with move in costs totaling a little over $2000. 

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that when you need help, you need help. Maybe you can help out with finances, maybe you can share this campaign for visibility, or maybe even just say a prayer. All 3 would be ideal. I pray any contribution, or intention you make is rewarded, tenfold.
