I lOVE MY BROTHER

Eight years ago my middle brother Benny began a horrible journey in life called dimentia/alzheimers. Over the past years a string of circumstances beyond his control has caused him to give up his position as pastor of his Church in NC (over 20 years), lose his house to an act of nature, and now finds himself living, along with his awesome wife Beth, with his daughter and son-in-law in Franklin, NC. His son in law has been in the process of building a small house on his property for Benny and Beth to move into. As his Alzheimer's has progressed Benny has found life more and more difficult and has now found himself with cancer in one eye with few options for treatment. Benny and Beth desperately need to be able to move into the small house under construction but, another $20,000 in materials is needed for it to be completed. His son-in-law along with various friends have supplied most all of the labor free of charge.
Over the past 20 plus years Benny has been instrumental in the changing of hundreds of lives through his ministry in the mountains of WNC. The effects of the disease have unfortunately resulted in some actions on his part that have not always been understood by those around him.  The type of dimentia that Benny has is a very special type which unfortunately attacks the area of the brain that controls behavior and decision making.  As a result, for years now, no one can hold him responsible for many things he may have said or done.  It is a cruel disease! I LOVE MY BROTHER! He is a great man! He and Beth desperately need the understanding and help of all of us who have been around them for decades. As a family we have been doing all that we can to help them even as we continue to try and help meet the needs of our elderly parents in Liberty, SC.
