Jayson’s Fight Against Cancer Fund

Less than a month after his 21st birthday and three months before graduating from college, Jayson was diagnosed with Classical Hodgkins Lymphoma. We recently learned that he is at stage 3 and that the cancer has spread from his neck to his chest, armpits, stomach and spleen. While most 21 year olds are out having fun, Jayson is battling cancer.
In January, Jayson went to the hospital for a lump in his neck that not only made it so he couldn’t move, but also made it very difficult to swallow. Three months prior he went to urgent care when the lump was smaller, but was told that it was his lymph-nodes fighting something off. This time, he was transferred to another hospital to undergo a series of tests. After four days in the hospital, Jayson was told he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
After being released from the hospital, he had to undergo more testing to determine the stage, type of lymphoma and if the cancer had spread anywhere else. After multiple blood tests and various types of scans, we learned that he had stage 3, Classical Hodgkins lymphoma. We also learned that the cancer had spread from his neck to his chest, armpits, stomach and spleen.
After undergoing testing, he learned that he had to prepare for six months of chemotherapy by first getting any cavities filled and having all four of his wisdom teeth, along with two molars removed. He also had to make life decisions about his future that no one his age should have to make.
Jayson is scheduled to begin chemo this Friday, February 23. Currently, his spirits are high and he is determined to win this battle against cancer because he has so much life still left to live. While trying to determine what was wrong and preparing for chemo, Jayson has had to pay for many expenses including medication, emergency dental work, testing, doctor visits and other medical expenses.
Help Jayson win his battle by taking away some of the stress, and lessening the burden of medical expenses. Any donation is appreciated and will be one less thing for him to worry about.
